A type of antenna formed of a conducting tube of varying cross section opening out from the feed to the mouth where the radiation is emitted. Various cross sections are used including square, rectangular, and circular with varying characteristics. Horns are used as the feed for reflector and lens antennas, as an element in phased arrays, and as a standard for calibration of other high-gain antennas.
