A programme originally launched by NASA in 1992, using powerful radio telescopes to search the skies for extraterrestrial signals. NASA cancelled the SETI project in 1993, but other privately funded SETI projects continue.

There is also the opportunity to devote some of your own computer's time to ‘crunching’ the enormous amounts of data the Institute collects and so doing a little to help the search.
