Asteroid 6, discovered in 1847 by the German amateur astronomer Karl Ludwig Hencke (1793–1866). Hebe is an S-type asteroid of diameter 185 km. Its orbit has a semimajor axis of 2.43 au, period 3.78 years, perihelion 1.94 au, aphelion 2.92 au, and inclination 14°.7.
