Studies of health from geographical perspectives, including: quantitative and qualitative approaches to map and interpret the geography of health; inequalities in health outcomes and provision/utilization of health services; the impact of migration on health; the impact of health status on migration; health and human modification of the environment; the impact of air/water quality, air/water contamination or pollution, global climate change; and other global environmental changes on health and disease, such as infectious diseases, toxicity, neoplasms, and heat stress. Pearce and Barnett (2012) PHG 36, 1, 3 have a very interesting, clear, and nuanced study of the impact of the local economic and social environment upon smoking. Try also Andrews and Evans (2008) PHG 32, 6, 759. Issue 5 of AAAG (2012), is entirely devoted to geographies of health.
