1. An apparatus for performing executions by beheading efficiently and humanely. It consists of a tall, upright frame, a sharp, heavy blade with an angled edge, ropes and pulleys to raise the blade to the top of the frame, and stocks at the foot of the frame by which the condemned individual is secured. Once in position, with the neck directly beneath the blade, the blade is released to fall freely, decapitating the person with a single cut.
2. A tool for cutting a stack of sheets of paper precisely and with a clean, straight edge.
