A crater surrounded by a ring of low hills. Such craters are thought to be formed by the impact of a meteorite on a planet with an atmosphere or a wet or muddy surface. The impact produces a splash pattern and surface flow within the ejecta blanket, forming a rampart at its edge. An example is the 19-km Martian crater Yuty.
