In radio signal transmission, the line that includes the path taken by direct rays. Direct transmission of a signal from a transmitter to a receiver occurs when the receiver can see the transmitter, i.e. they are in line-of-sight of one another. In reality diffraction occurs and the radio waves are slightly bent around the curvature of the earth. The actual radio horizon is about 4/3 greater than the geometric line-of-sight.
