单词 white hole
释义
white hole

Physics
  • A region of space–time that is the time reversal of a black hole, meaning that matter would explode out of a white hole. Although white holes have sometimes been invoked to explain some violent events in the universe, there are strong theoretical arguments suggesting that they cannot exist.

Astronomy
  • The time-reverse of the collapse of an object into a black hole. The equations of general relativity which describe such a collapse are time-symmetric, so there is no theoretical reason why they should not run in reverse. A white hole would therefore be a place where matter spontaneously appeared into our Universe. However, no such object has been observed.
