An igneous texture characterized by an equigranular, cryptocrystalline aggregate of minerals, usually quartz and feldspar, in rhyolites. The texture is formed during extreme undercooling of a magma, a condition which generates numerous nucleation sites and imposes slow rates of crystal growth.
