One of the largest known members of the Kuiper Belt, approximate diameter 1100 km, i.e. nearly half that of Pluto; also known as minor planet (50000). It was discovered in 2002 by the American astronomers Chadwick Aaron Trujillo (1973– ) and Michael Edwards Brown (1965– ). Its orbit has a semimajor axis of 43.44 au, perihelion 41.91 au, aphelion 44.97 au, inclination 8°.0, period 286.3 years. In 2007 a moon, Weywot, was discovered, estimated diameter 80 km.
