A NASA satellite that studied the sky at extreme ultraviolet wavelengths, launched in 1992 June. First it made a six-month survey of the sky using three grazing-incidence telescopes, covering the wavelengths 6–70 nm. A fourth telescope pointing at right angles to the others surveyed a limited area of sky with deeper exposure. This telescope included a spectrometer that was used as the primary instrument after the initial sky survey. EUVE ceased operation in 2001 January.
