A type of pulsating variable that consists of a helium supergiant, with a Bp spectrum; abbr. PVTEL. About 15 such stars are currently known. They pulsate with periods of approximately 0.1–1.0 day, but some may vary in brightness by about 0.1 mag. in a period of a year or so.
