A small family of asteroids in the central region of the main asteroid belt, at a mean distance of 2.6–2.7 au and with a mean orbital inclination of about 12°. The largest member is the S-type (15) Eunomia, diameter 255 km, while the two next-largest members, (85) Io and (141) Lumen, are of C type. Eunomia was discovered in 1851 by the Italian astronomer Annibale de Gasparis (1819–92). Its orbit has a semimajor axis of 2.64 au, period 4.30 years, perihelion 2.15 au, aphelion 3.14 au, and inclination 11°.7.
