One of a series of cross-bedding types proposed by J. R. L. Allen in 1963. Epsilon cross-bedding is the type of cross-bedding formed by the lateral accretion of a river point bar. Other terms (nu, gamma, beta cross-bedding, etc.) proposed in the same scheme are not in current usage.
