A series of lightweight, very high-resolution Israel Space Agency satellites in low Earth orbit. Built and operated by ImageSat International (iSi), the craft are designed for fast manoeuvring between imaging targets from a Sun-synchronous orbit. Their capabilities include stereo pairs and simultaneous multiple image capturing of specified areas. Currently two satellites are in orbit: EROS-A was launched in 2000 aboard a Russian Start-1 launch vehicle—in so doing, iSi became the first non-US company to successfully deploy a commercial high-resolution imaging satellite, with EROS-A having an optical resolution of 1.8 metres; and EROS-B, launched in 2006, which has an optical resolution of 1.2 metres.
