A constellation of two satellites of the French Space Agency that provide high-resolution, panchromatic, and multispectral optical imagery over the globe, with every part of the surface covered daily. Pleiades-1A was launched on 17 December 2011 and Pleiades-1B on 2 December 2012, both from Kourou, French Guiana, into Sun-synchronous orbits at an altitude of 694 km, phased 180° apart.
