A microwave tracking system based on the Doppler principle that uses a global network of ground-based tracking stations and an unlimited number of satellites. It measures the Doppler shift in radio signals sent by the ground stations to satellites carrying DORIS receivers to provide precise measurements of the orbit and data applicable to geodesy. The service is operated by the French Centre National d’Études Spatiales.
