A module for the instruments and support equipment on the European Space Agency's Polar Platform satellite. The module's payload carrier (PLC) is the main structural support for ten externally mounted instruments that have a mass of 2 200 kg. The PLM's U-shaped payload equipment bay (PEB) houses internally mounted equipment and provides such services as electrical distribution and data management. Other parts of the PLM include a solar array, star sensors, and an antenna.
