The third-closest satellite of Neptune, orbiting every 0.335 days at a distance of 52 526 km, slightly closer than the inner edge of the planet’s Le Verrier ring; also known as Neptune V. Despina is about 150 km in diameter, and was discovered in 1989 on images from the Voyager 2 spacecraft.
