South Korea’s first home-grown space launch vehicle to place a satellite into low Earth orbit. The two-stage solid-fuelled booster was developed jointly with Russia and failed in two previous attempts (2009 and 2010). The third launch, on 30 January 2013, carried the STSAT-2C satellite into orbit atop the 33-metre-tall rocket, which has a Russian-built first stage and a South Korean upper stage.
