一种类型的核过程。在一些极端情况下，中子密度足够强（每立方厘米1020中子以上），会使得中子俘获反应形成的不稳定丰中子核素合成抗拒向稳定核的衰变，这时核合成的路径会非常接近中子滴线，直到发展到上述过程无法优先，大多数衰变回到稳定线，这个核合成的过程称为快速中子俘获过程（r过程）。
