MICS (Medical Implant Communications Service) In the United States, an ultra-low power, mobile radio service for transmitting data in support of diagnostic or therapeutic functions associated with implanted medical devices, such as cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators. MICS requires no licensing, but MICS equipment must be operated by an authorized health care professional. MICS operates in the 402–405 MHz band.
