MBS (Maximum Burst Size) In asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), a traffic parameter describing the maximum number of consecutive cells that can transmit within the peak cell rate (PCR), given the burst tolerance (BT), or burst cell tolerance (BCT), of the network.
