luminance part of the Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN).When a caller dials a telephone number, the originating CO queries a routing SMS database in an SCP for the associated LRN.The network uses that number to direct the call to the proper physical exchange, which may be one of several operated by competing local exchange carriers (LECs).
