ISM (Industrial/Scientific/Medical) Radio frequency (RF) bands in the 902–928 MHz, 2.4–2.5 GHz, and 5.8–5.9 GHz ranges. In the United States and most countries, these bands require no licensing. As signal propagation characteristics are excellent at these relatively low frequencies (particularly in the lower of the two bands), they are employed extensively in a wide variety of applications, including Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs).
