单词 | DNR |
释义 | DNR 1. Domain Name Resolver. A program that looks up an Internet domain name or attribute of a domain (e.g., host, alias, network, protocol, or service) name on a Domain Name Server (DNS) to translate domain names and Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) into Internet Protocol (IP) addresses (and vice versa) in order that the routers can route e-mail and other traffic correctly. See also DNS, e-mail, Internet, IP, IP address, router, and URL. 2. Do Not Resuscitate. A doctor’s order that a patient should not be resuscitated in the event of cardiac or respiratory arrest. A DNR can be instituted on the basis of an advance directive from the person involved or from someone authorized to make medical decisions on their behalf. A DNR prevents a hospital from resuscitating someone and placing that person on life support systems. Many people issue advance DNR directives in order to ensure that they will die a natural death, without extraordinary, invasive, and painful measures being taken to prolong their lives. I have issued a DNR directive and so has my wife.Think about it. Also, please donate blood regularly. It doesn’t hurt enough to even talk about, and it could save a life. |
