An international experiment to study the properties of neutrinos, based in Daya Bay, China. The experiment has succeeded in accurately measuring some of the parameters associated with neutrino mixing. This has been a very important constraint in the construction of theories of elementary particles that go beyond the standard model.
It is hoped that the Daya Bay Experiment will detect the violation of CP invariance in neutrinos that has been predicted for neutrinos with nonzero masses by analogy to CP violation in quarks.
