An object in the Kuiper Belt with a mean distance from the Sun greater than about 41 au and an orbit of low eccentricity; also known as a main Kuiper Belt object or classical Kuiper Belt object. Unlike the Plutinos, Cubewanos are not in a resonance with Neptune. Most known objects in the Kuiper Belt fall into this category. The first such object to be discovered, 1992 QB₁, now numbered (15760), was the first known member of the Kuiper Belt; it has a perihelion of 40.84 au, aphelion 46.57 au, inclination 2°.2, and period 288.9 years. The name Cubewano comes from the pronunciation of ‘QB1’.
