An observatory at an altitude of 3260 m on Mount Graham in the Pinaleño mountains near Safford, Arizona, 125 km northeast of Tucson, founded in 1988. It is owned and operated by the University of Arizona’s Steward Observatory, and hosts telescopes from various other institutions. Its largest instrument is the Large Binocular Telescope. It is also the site of the Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope and the 10-m Submillimeter Telescope of the Arizona Radio Observatory.
