A highly selective bandpass filter using a piezoelectric crystal, often lead zirconate titanate, PZT, as the resonator element. The electrical equivalent circuit of the ceramic filter is an LC circuit. Ceramic filters are available for common intermediate frequencies. They are less expensive than comparable crystal filters, but offer lower Q factor or selectivity.
