A spacecraft system to absorb carbon dioxide, which is exhaled by astronauts. NASA, which uses 100% oxygen in its spacecraft, has the cabin gases pass through a filter of lithium hydroxide. It combines with the carbon dioxide to produce lithium carbonate, with water as a by-product. The system is stored in the atmospheric revitalization rack.
