Curves demonstrating the relationship between the junction capacitance and applied voltage of a p-n junction diode or a metal-semiconductor junction diode (a Schottky diode). These curves are used to analyse the material structure of the diode; in particular the potential barrier height of the junction can be found, and also the variation with depth of the majority carrier concentration within the semiconductor, known as the doping profile.
