If φ‎ is a particular antiderivative of a continuous function f, then any antiderivative of f differs from φ‎ by a constant. It is common, therefore, to write $\int f\left(x\right)\text{d}x=\text{φ}\left(x\right)+c$ where c, an arbitrary constant, is the constant of integration.
