Electronics and Electrical Engineering A combined transmitter and receiver system that automatically transmits a signal when a predetermined trigger is received by it. The trigger, which is often in the form of a pulse, is known as the interrogating signal. The minimum amplitude of the trigger signal that initiates a response from the transponder is the trigger level.
