A NASA lunar orbiting mission launched in 2013 September to study the extremely tenuous gas and dust environment of the Moon. The orbiter carried a neutral mass spectrometer, an ultraviolet/visible spectrometer, and a dust detector. The mission ended in 2014 April when the craft impacted the far side of the Moon.
