A slim, nocturnal, arboreal primate (family Loridae) with large, forward-facing eyes, tight, woolly fur, small ears, and opposable thumbs. They feed on insects, sometimes augmented with small vertebrates and bird eggs. They never jump from branch to branch. There are two genera with about ten species, forming the subfamily Lorinae, found in tropical central Africa and southern Asia.
