A soft fishnet Dacron (synthetic polyester) layer used in spacesuits to keep the pressurized fabric from stretching into a rigid form that hampers mobility. Linknet, which is lightweight but strong, was introduced in 1956 for US Air Force pilots. NASA's Gemini astronauts were the first to have spacesuits equipped with this restraint layer.
