The tenth-closest satellite of Jupiter, distance 11 164 000 km, orbital period 240.9 days; also known as Jupiter XIII. Its diameter is about 20 km. It was discovered in 1974 by the American astronomer Charles Thomas Kowal (1940–2011). Leda is a member of the Himalia group of Jovian satellites.
