单词 systematic error
释义
systematic error

Mathematics
  • An error which is not random and is therefore liable to introduce bias into an estimator. For example, r=1n(xix¯)2n has a tendency to underestimate the population variance. In a production process, if one of ten prongs on a rotating drum is broken then every tenth item on the production line will be faulty in addition to any random faults which may occur.

Statistics
  • An error that occurs when the result of measuring a variable whose actual value is x is f(x), where f is a fixed function. A simple example would be to consistently truncate (so that, for example, 11.9 is reported as 11 rather than 12). See random error.

Chemical Engineering
  • See error.
