The symmetries of a figure form its symmetry group under composition. The symmetry group of a regular polygon is a dihedral group, of a rectangle is V₄, of the tetrahedron is A₄, of the cube and octahedron is S₄,and of the dodecahedron and icosahedron is A₅.
