An international standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary technical standards for materials, products, systems, and services. Unlike ANSI, it is not a national standards body. It has been responsible for developing and maintaining more than 12,000 standards and the Annual Book of ASTM Standards consists of 77 volumes.
