A solar prominence with very rapid motion (up to 2000 km/s), often associated with a flare. Active prominences are located at low latitudes on the Sun and are closely associated with sunspots and active regions. The main types of active prominence include loop prominences, coronal rain, surge prominences, sprays, and arch filaments.
