单词 irradiance
释义
irradiance

Physics
  • Symbol E. The radiant flux per unit area reaching a surface; in SI units it is measured in watts per square metre (W m−2). Irradiance refers to electromagnetic radiation of all kinds, whereas illuminance refers only to visible radiation.

Astronomy
  • The energy at all wavelengths that falls on a surface in a given time. It is measured in watts per square metre. The energy input at visual wavelengths alone is termed illuminance.

Chemical Engineering
  • The radiant flux per unit area reaching a surface. The SI units are W m−2. It refers to all types of electromagnetic radiation. Illuminance refers only to visible radiation.

Computer
  • The light (strictly the radiant flux) arriving at a point of a surface.

Geology and Earth Sciences
  • The flux density of electromagnetic radiation falling onto a surface.

Geography
  • The rate of flow of radiant energy through unit area perpendicular to a solar beam. Total solar irradiance is the dominant driver of global climate (Mendoza (2005) Advances Space Res. 35, 5). See also Mishchenko et al. (2007) Bull. Am. Met. Soc. 88, 5.
