A camera designed to enforce road speed limits by photographing vehicles travelling faster than such limits. Radar is generally used to detect a speeding car, and this triggers the camera to capture an image of the number plate. Some systems require calibrated markings on the roadway and use two photographs taken a small interval of time apart to enable a precise speed calculation to be made.
