The first commercial spaceflight company to offer private citizens opportunities in space-related adventure travel––from space camps and astronaut training to actual space flights and space walks. Aerospace engineer Eric C. Anderson and other entrepreneurs founded the company in 1998, which is headquartered in Tysons Corner, Virginia, with an office in Moscow. To date, Space Adventures has arranged eight flights to the International Space Station on Russian Soyuz spacecraft (launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan), allowing its clients to live and work alongside professional astronauts for 10 days or more.
