India’s first space agency. Formed in 1962 by the government in India, INCOSPAR set up the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) in Thiruvananthapuram for upper atmospheric research before it was superseded seven years later by the Indian Space Research Organization.
