A former millimetre-wave radio array at an altitude of 2440 m at Cedar Flat in the Inyo Mountains of eastern California. When opened in 2007 it consisted of six 10.4-m antennae from the Owens Valley Radio Observatory’s former millimetre array, and nine of 6.1 m from the former Berkeley–Illinois–Maryland Association (BIMA) Array. In 2008 these were joined by eight 3.5-m antennas belonging to the University of Chicago, creating a 23-element interferometer. The CARMA observatory was closed in 2015.
