Asteroid 69230, a member of the Apollo group, discovered by the German astronomer Karl Reinmuth (1892–1979) in 1937, when it approached within 0.006 au (900 000 km) of the Earth. It was then lost until 2003. It is a binary consisting of two similar-sized objects each about 0.4 km across with an orbital period of 13.9 hours. Its orbit is perturbed by close approaches to Venus and the Earth but currently has a semimajor axis of 1.65 au, period 2.13 years, perihelion 0.62 au, aphelion 2.69 au, and inclination 6°.1.
