The nearest group of galaxies to the Local Group, about 10 million l.y. away. It is a loose association containing the late-type spirals NGC 45, 55, 247, 253, 300, 7793, and possibly IC 5332. It is centred on the constellation Sculptor, near the south galactic pole, but its members stray into neighbouring Cetus.
