A protruding pin on a spacecraft that is normally used to retrieve it in space. The Canadarm, the remote-controlled arm on the International Space Station (ISS), is used for this task. The wires of the Canadarm's end effector at the end of the arm serve as a grappling snare, closing over the grappling pin to capture a payload in space. The Canadarm is also stowed in the ISS Destiny module by attaching each end to a grappling pin.
